ICESCO Director-General Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik has sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The editorial office presents the text of the letter, citing President.az.
"On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day, I have the great honor to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the people of Azerbaijan, on behalf of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - ICESCO, and on my own behalf.
This historic event is marked not only by the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity but also by the triumph of justice and the beginning of a new era of peace, development, and reconstruction in the South Caucasus. The liberation of territories has paved the way for a significant restoration process, particularly in the field of cultural heritage, which represents the identity and spiritual values of the Azerbaijani people and the entire Islamic world.
In this regard, I recall with satisfaction that ICESCO has sent two international technical missions to the liberated territories in recent years, which assessed the situation on the ground and provided recommendations for the protection and restoration of cultural heritage damaged during the occupation. We consider these efforts extremely important as a model for the preservation of cultural heritage in post-conflict regions not only in Azerbaijan but throughout the world.
During each of my visits to Karabakh, I have observed the rapid changes there with great admiration. The reconstruction of cities and villages, the restoration of cultural and religious monuments, educational institutions, and the revival of public life are clear evidence of this.
These significant achievements are a testament to Your visionary leadership and your determination for a more prosperous and stable future for Azerbaijan.
Your Excellency, on the occasion of this glorious Victory Day, I once again sincerely congratulate you and wish the Republic of Azerbaijan lasting peace, progress, and prosperity under your wise leadership.
I take this pleasant opportunity to express my highest respect and esteem to Your Excellency."
