Despite threats from US President Donald Trump, India will continue to import oil from Russia.

The editorial office reports that TASS, citing a source in the Indian government, writes: “The purchase of Russian oil is completely legal, and this product has never been subject to sanctions.” It is reported that official Delhi does not intend to stop energy cooperation with Moscow.

"The New York Times" also reports that India is determined to buy Russian oil despite Trump's possible sanction threats. Indian officials note that meeting energy needs is part of national interests, and cooperation with Russia is one of the main pillars of this strategy.

Currently, India remains one of Russia's main energy partners, and experts predict that these relations will not change in the near future.
