Women's employment and their role in socio-economic development are priority issues. Currently, women constitute 2 million 414 thousand of the employed population in our country. The number of men in the employed population is 2 million 615 thousand. The number of women in the workforce is 2 million 571 thousand.
This was shared by Member of Parliament Vugar Bayramov.
The deputy noted that the sector where our women work the most is education:
"Currently, the number of women working under employment contracts is 722,147. Of these, 242,801 work in the education sector. This means 33.6 percent of all employed women. This also means that one out of every three women working under an employment contract works in the education sphere. Providing healthcare and social services to the population is the second largest sector preferred by our women. With a total share of 16.2 percent, 116,976 women work in this sphere. The trade and vehicle repair sector completes the top three: here, employment contracts for 95,566 women citizens have been registered".
According to V. Bayramov, regarding the average monthly salary of women, the highest salary is offered in the mining industry: "Here, the average salary for women employees is 2915 manat. This is followed by the average monthly salary of our women citizens engaged in finance and insurance activities: 1813 manat.
The information and communication sector completes the top three here: 1353 manat.
In the education sector, which has a large share in employment, the average monthly salary for women is 731 manat. Currently, the average monthly salary of women is equal to 68.9 percent of the average salary of men. Globally, this ratio is 77-80 percent.
In the modern era, with the further development of artificial intelligence and digital solutions, increasing the contribution of women to creating economic value remains one of the main directions of gender policy".
