A new diplomatic phase is beginning towards the international recognition of the State of Palestine.

The editorial office reports that in the autumn of 2025, several Western countries – France, England, Canada, Portugal, Malta, and Australia – plan to officially recognize the State of Palestine. The governments of these countries have begun internal consultations and international diplomatic coordination on the matter.

The recognition process is expected to be announced by an official decision ahead of the next session of the UN General Assembly in September.

According to experts, this step indicates a reshaping of international relations regarding the Palestinian issue in the context of the Gaza conflict. The recognition decisions by these countries, in addition to supporting the Palestinian people's right to sovereignty, could also significantly impact peace efforts in the region.

It should be noted that more than 140 countries worldwide have recognized Palestine as an independent state prior to these countries. The new recognition decisions demonstrate that the Palestinian issue is once again taking a central place on the international agenda.
