As part of the settlement reached in antitrust claims concerning the Google Play Store, certain users will have the opportunity to receive compensation. The settlement aims to resolve allegations that Google restricted competition in the areas of app distribution and in-app payments.

According to editorial information, users who purchased apps, subscriptions, or in-app content through Google Play between August 16, 2016, and September 30, 2023, may be eligible for a payment. A total of $630 million is slated for distribution among approximately 102 million consumers.

According to the terms, eligible users must have their legal address registered in the United States, its territories, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands in their Google payment profile. The minimum payment amount has been set at $2, and this amount may increase depending on the volume of expenses.

A court review for the final approval of the settlement is scheduled for April 30, 2026. Following approval, payments are expected to be automatically processed via PayPal or Venmo within a short period.
