Internet giant Google introduced CodeMender, an artificial intelligence agent capable of detecting and patching dangerous security vulnerabilities. "We are sharing the initial results of our research on CodeMender, our new AI tool that automatically improves code security," said Google, adding about the system, which is of great importance for the future: "Finding and fixing security vulnerabilities in software is a challenging and time-consuming task for developers, even when using traditional automation methods. CodeMender aims to solve this problem fundamentally. The tool makes existing code more secure by immediately patching/closing new vulnerabilities and by rewriting existing code."

Redaksiya reports that Google stated the system has been tested for a long time, and CodeMender has patched 72 different critical security vulnerabilities discovered in large open-source projects over the past six months. "By automatically generating and applying security patches, the system allows developers to focus on their core work – developing good software," Google announced, adding that work on the system will continue.

Google continuously strives to achieve better results with the opportunities brought by productive artificial intelligence. The introduction of CodeMender is part of Google's efforts in the field of artificial intelligence and demonstrates the company's commitment to security issues. This system not only simplifies developers' work but also enhances the overall security of software. Google's research and developments in this area will contribute to the creation of more secure and reliable software in the future.
