Pascal Confavre, spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained the latest events concerning Iran and France's position on the matter. He expressed concern over Iran's internal situation, stating that France is closely monitoring the situation. Confavre touched upon human rights violations and pressure on civil society within Iran.

Redaksiya reports that Pascal Confavre recalled the European Union's (EU) sanctions against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, saying, "At the European level, we are working with the Commission to identify those responsible for repression (in Iran) and to implement sanctions." He also emphasized that the US pressure against Greenland must end. Confavre announced that France will host the G7 Leaders' Summit in Evian-les-Bains from June 15-17 and the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting around Paris on March 26-27.

Confavre noted that they have received instructions to be prepared for all eventualities, stating, "Every possibility, including the possibility of foreign interference and the risk of escalation in a region we clearly want to avoid, means that." He stated that France wants to support civil society in Iran, saying, "The Minister (Barrot) asked us to explore solutions, through the Eutelsat operator, to restore internet connectivity for the benefit of civil society organizations." Member of Parliament Christine Arriqui from the Greens (EELV) party addressed French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot during a general session of the National Assembly, asking about sending Eutelsat terminals to Iran. Confavre stated that different figures have been cited regarding those who lost their lives in recent events in Iran, and the Iranian authorities have announced that more than 2,000 people have died, saying, "This repression is unacceptable." French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, in response to the questions, said, "We are exploring all options, and the option you mentioned is part of it."
