Drivers traveling during the holidays should plan their routes in advance.
This was stated in the appeal of the Main State Traffic Police Department (MSTPD) regarding Victory Day and State Flag Day.
It was emphasized that during the consecutive holiday days covering November 8-11, an intensification of traffic flow across the country is expected, with increased movement from the capital to the regions, as well as in the opposite direction.
The Main State Traffic Police Department appeals to road users, stating that ensuring safety on the roads during the upcoming four-day non-working period depends on the attention and responsibility of every road user.
"Drivers are requested to carefully check the technical condition of their vehicles before setting off – especially inspecting the brake system, tire wear, lighting devices, and the functionality of windshield wipers. It is recommended that they plan their routes in advance and set their travel time so that the journey is comfortable and safe. Before embarking on long journeys, they must rest, and not get behind the wheel when tired or sleepy. They should strictly adhere to speed limits, maintain a proper distance, avoiding risky maneuvers and sudden overtakes. Children should be transported in the car using a seat belt or a child seat. They should not forget that it is unacceptable for individuals who have consumed alcohol to get behind the wheel."
The appeal emphasized that pedestrians should only use designated crossings, obey traffic light signals, and especially in the evening hours when visibility is poor, prefer reflective elements on their clothing.
"During the holidays, the personnel of the MSTPD will be serving in an enhanced work regime. The goal is to ensure traffic safety and prevent accidents. Let's not forget that the safety of ourselves and our loved ones depends on each of our behaviors."
