Diplomatic momentum is growing in Europe and the Middle East towards the international recognition of the State of Palestine. The Guardian reports that England's official recognition of Palestine is now a matter of time.

The editorial office reports that opposition parties in Belgium have called on the government to take official steps to recognize the State of Palestine. At the same time, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the recognition of the State of Palestine is one of the final stages of the two-state solution process.

Significant support has also come from the Middle East in this direction. Speaking at the UN-organized Palestine conference in New York, the foreign ministers of Jordan and Saudi Arabia called on the international community to recognize the State of Palestine. They emphasized that this is crucial for a just and lasting peace in the region.

The United States, however, takes a tougher stance against these initiatives. The US State Department criticized the aforementioned international conference, stating that the event emboldened Hamas. The Donald Trump administration also opposed this initiative, considering it contradictory to US interests.

It should be noted that previously, leaders of Italy and France had also sent messages indicating they would recognize the State of Palestine. Observers evaluate this development as an important step towards a unified position in Europe and the Arab world.
