Control measures were carried out by the Food Safety Agency at the "Nar Kəndli" market, owned by "Zeytun Park" LLC, and at food establishments around the market, operating in the Hovsan settlement of Surakhani district, Baku.
During the inspections, it was determined that at the meat sales facility operating within the market, meat and meat products were put up for sale without adhering to temperature regimes, using non-functional refrigeration equipment, and without veterinary expertise. Additionally, illegally organized areas for the storage and slaughter of fish were discovered in the market area, and it was found that slaughter and sales were conducted under unsanitary conditions. During the inspection, it was recorded that live and dead fish were kept together in unsuitable household-type bathtubs, dead fish were not removed in a timely manner, water was not regularly changed, and fish products were put up for sale outdoors and without refrigeration equipment.
At the same time, it was determined that dairy and dairy products lacked accompanying documents, labeling requirements were not met, information about storage conditions and expiration dates was not provided, and various types of pickles prepared at home, without label information, were offered for sale.
Mandatory instructions were issued to the market management to eliminate the identified deficiencies. Control measures are continuing to ensure food safety and protect consumer health.
