“Solving the specific issues arising from the application of artificial intelligence technologies in the media sector is among the important challenges of our time.”
These words were stated by Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his speech at the II Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum on the topic “Digital Transformation and Media”.
He stated that the necessity to acquire these new knowledge and skills, and to modernize the information landscape of our countries by leveraging the opportunities it provides, is already being felt: “Media should utilize artificial intelligence not only for formal improvement but also in the process of creating more engaging content. It is known that preparing content in accordance with journalistic principles, verifying facts, conducting analytical analyses and comparisons, and especially visualizing the prepared material, cannot be realized without the application of artificial intelligence technologies.”
Ahmad Ismayilov noted that this modern approach gives reason to say that journalism has already entered a new and completely different phase of development: “The media in a number of countries is already utilizing the achievements of new technological progress. We are closely monitoring this process, seriously analyzing it, and coming up with various initiatives to increase the competitiveness of media in the digital environment.”
