The dense fog currently observed in the capital and some regions of the country significantly limits visibility on roads, complicating vehicle movement and increasing the risk of road traffic accidents. Reduced visibility hinders drivers from correctly assessing road conditions, which can lead to severe and undesirable incidents due to momentary inattention.
The editorial office reports that this information is conveyed in the appeal from the Main State Traffic Police Department (BDYPİ) to drivers and pedestrians regarding foggy weather conditions.
"In this regard, the Main State Traffic Police Department draws the attention of road users to the fact that reducing speed limits in foggy weather conditions, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, using light devices only for their intended purpose, avoiding sudden stops and dangerous maneuvers, as well as carrying out overtaking operations only in permitted and safe conditions, are of great importance.
Pedestrians are reminded to cross the road only at visible and permitted places, and to ensure that there are no vehicles or that drivers have come to a complete stop to yield to them before crossing the road.
The Main State Traffic Police Department emphasizes once again that strict adherence to traffic rules in dense fog conditions is of particular importance for ensuring the safety of every road user.
Let's not forget that careful, cautious, and responsible behavior on the roads is the main condition for preventing road traffic accidents," the appeal states.
