Special AZERTAC Auditorium Opens at BSU

A ceremony was held at Baku State University (BSU) to mark the opening of a special auditorium for the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC).

Speaking at the ceremony, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev stated that close cooperation with media entities plays a crucial role in training professional journalistic кадры in the country. He noted that involving the country's reputable media organizations in the educational process and creating specialized auditoriums in the Faculty of Journalism has brought new content to the training of journalistic кадры. Currently, 6 specialized auditoriums are operating in the Faculty of Journalism. The Rector expressed confidence that the special AZERTAC auditorium, named after the country's largest news producer, will become an important space for the formation of knowledge and professionalism in the future: “The work done by a reputable media organization like AZERTAC in this field has always been an indicator of development and quality. The accuracy and timeliness of news, along with the high quality of photo materials, distinguish AZERTAC as a reliable source of information. I express my gratitude for this beautiful auditorium and wish success to its activities. This is an important stimulus for students and teachers. I am confident that in the future, professional employees of AZERTAC will contribute to the educational process at BSU.”

Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, stated that BSU is the oldest higher education institution in our country and a leading educational center that trains useful specialists for society, including journalists. Baku State University, which began its activities in 1919, has been serving our society, science, and the development of education for over a century. This sacred educational institution, a graduate of our National Leader Heydar Aliyev, instills knowledge in thousands of young people in line with modern standards. The Faculty of Journalism of the university plays a significant role in training professional journalistic кадры in our country: “There are close cooperation ties between AZERTAC and BSU. This cooperation creates broad opportunities for the professional training of young кадры. In particular, the internship programs organized by AZERTAC for students of the Faculty of Journalism allow them to deeply master modern media standards. Students who successfully complete the internship program and distinguish themselves are offered employment at the Agency. The opening of the Agency's special auditorium in the Faculty of Journalism will be very beneficial for our society, including Baku State University and AZERTAC. Various meetings, lectures, and trainings will be held in this auditorium. This will make AZERTAC more accessible to students of the Faculty of Journalism of the University.”

Jahangir Mammadli, Head of the Department of National Press History at BSU and a professor, emphasized that Baku State University and AZERTAC are institutions based on national interests, carrying social responsibility, and closely connected with the people. He noted that the cooperation established between these two reputable institutions is very successful and exemplary. In particular, the fact that students of the Faculty of Journalism of BSU undergo practical training at AZERTAC and subsequently begin their careers as professional journalists is a real and positive result of this cooperation.

Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), stated that the creation of special auditoriums at BSU is a significant stimulus for students. He noted that such projects make a substantial contribution to the professional development of young people and their closer integration into the media environment: “AZERTAC has successfully realized the idea of a special auditorium, turning it into a practical and beneficial project. I am confident that this trend will continue to develop consistently and sustainably in the future.”

Rashad Majid, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council, pointed out that the special AZERTAC auditorium is a continuation of the realization of a successful idea: “The activity of young people at AZERTAC yields very successful and effective results in terms of their professional formation. We believe that this successful cooperation will continue in the future and will gain even wider scope.”

Fazil Novruzov, Head of the Apparatus of the Audiovisual Council, Radik Ismayilov, Executive Director of "ARB 24" television, Rafiq Hashimov, Deputy Chairman of "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC, Aynur Nasirova, Head of the Department of International Journalism and Information Policy at BSU, and Vugar Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, in their speeches noted that the special AZERTAC auditorium provides convenient opportunities for establishing direct ties between students and production, and expressed their confidence that this will contribute to the development of the press, BSU, and AZERTAC.
