Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Sohail Mahmood, Secretary General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan announced this on its "X" account.
According to the information, during the meeting, the parties discussed the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and D-8 in the political, economic, trade, energy, investment, transport, and logistics sectors. Azerbaijan's active participation since joining the D-8 was highly appreciated.
In this context, the "D-8 Week" initiative held in Azerbaijan, as well as the work carried out towards the establishment of Centers of Excellence for Media and Transport, and the Energy and Climate Center, were highlighted.
Regional and global security issues were also discussed at the meeting. Particular attention was paid to reducing tensions in the Middle East, adhering to international humanitarian law, and protecting the civilian population.
