Cooperation between Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzMİU) and the international “Holberton School” network is deepening further. To this end, Florian Bucher, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Holberton School, Şəmsi Bayramzadə, Head of Holberton School Azerbaijan, and Vüsalə Qurbanova, Sector Manager of the Agency for Information Technology and Digital Development (İRİA), visited AzMİU and met with the university's rector, Professor Gülçöhrə Məmmədova.
Representatives from both sides of the university also participated in the meeting. The parties discussed the existing cooperation between the “Holberton School” network and AzMİU and determined the directions for future joint projects.
Rector Professor Gülçöhrə Məmmədova noted that AzMİU is taking consistent steps to align teaching in information technology-oriented specialties with world standards. It was emphasized that, in addition to theoretical knowledge, organizing practical training for students serves to fully prepare them for the labor market and develop them into competitive professionals.
Florian Bucher and Şəmsi Bayramzadə expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation with AzMİU. It was stated that currently, 25 AzMİU students are studying at “Holberton School Azerbaijan.” They are being trained as high-level IT specialists based on an international program.
Vüsalə Qurbanova, in turn, noted that the work carried out by İRİA regarding digitalization in higher education institutions is closely monitored, and AzMİU's initiatives are of significant importance.
Sərxan Talıbzadə, Director of AzMİU's Information and Communication Technologies Center, and Associate Professor Rəşad İsmibəyli, Deputy Head of the Information Technologies and Systems Department, stated that cooperation with the “Holberton School” network creates favorable conditions for expanding educational opportunities.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the expansion of cooperation between AzMİU and “Holberton School,” the involvement of more students in this project, and the participation of AzMİU's IT specialty teachers in “Machine Learning” and “Artificial Intelligence” training provided by “Holberton School” specialists.
During the discussions, it was also emphasized that joint activities within AzMİU's CODEX IT Academy are being successfully implemented. It was noted that this academy, established under AzMİU's Information and Communication Technologies Center, represents a new stage in university-industry cooperation. “CODEX” currently collaborates with “Huawei,” “Holberton School Azerbaijan,” “İnnab” Professional Training Platform, and “Prosol” cybersecurity company, creating real opportunities for students to obtain international certificates.
Finally, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between AzMİU and “Holberton School Azerbaijan.” The document will create broad opportunities for the implementation of joint training programs and innovative IT projects in the future.
