Builders' Day in Azerbaijan

For 17 years now, April 10 has been celebrated as Builders' Day in Azerbaijan.

By the Decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dated December 16, 2009, builders celebrate April 10 every year as their professional holiday.

The rich history of construction and architecture in Azerbaijan, the widespread development of construction works that began in the country in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, and the residential buildings constructed during that period and still preserved as architectural monuments today, have transformed the capital Baku – which currently combines rare examples of Eastern and Western architecture and is one of the most beautiful cities in the world – into a clear example of difficult and honorable labor.

Today, builders proudly celebrate their professional holiday in every corner of a free, fully sovereign, and integral Azerbaijan. Following the Victory achieved by Azerbaijan's glorious Army in the fight against the enemy, and by the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, Karabakh and East Zangezur have currently been transformed into a massive construction, landscaping, and rebuilding site from end to end.
