The work time norm and production calendar for 2026 have been approved by a Decision of the Collegium of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

The work time norm for 2026 states that, in accordance with the Labor Code and the Decree No. 362 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 2, 2025, "On the determination of Novruz, Ramadan, and Gurban Bayram holidays for 2026," the following days in 2026 are not considered working days:
January 1, 2 – New Year's Holiday;
January 20 – National Day of Mourning;
March 8 – Women's Day;
March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 – Novruz Bayram;
March 20, 21 – Ramadan Bayram;
May 9 – Victory Day over Fascism;
May 27, 28 – Gurban Bayram;
May 28 – Independence Day;
June 15 – National Liberation Day of the Azerbaijani People;
June 26 – Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
November 8 – Victory Day;
November 9 – State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
December 31 – Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.
In accordance with the Labor Code and the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, in 2026, for a five-day work week, March 9, 25, 26, 27, and 30, May 11, 29, and November 10 are rest days. For a six-day work week, March 25, 26, May 29, and November 10 are rest days.
February 2026 consists of 28 calendar days, and the year has 365 calendar days.
In 2026, for a five-day work week, there will be 241 working days (5 of which are pre-holiday days, 1 is the day before the National Day of Mourning), 107 non-working days (5 of which are non-working holidays, 3 are determined due to overlap with other non-working holidays for Gurban and Ramadan Bayram), 19 non-working holidays (3 of which overlap), and 1 National Day of Mourning.
In our country, the duration of normal daily working hours cannot exceed 8 hours, and as a rule, a five-day work week with two rest days is established.
The duration of normal weekly working hours, corresponding to normal daily working hours, cannot exceed 40 hours.
The work time norm for 2026 is determined based on an 8-hour working day for a 40-hour five-day work week. During this period, the duration of weekly working days is reduced by one hour on pre-holiday days, voting days, and the day before the National Day of Mourning.
In accordance with the legislation, the annual norm of working hours for 2026 with a 40-hour work week is 1922 hours. For employees working a 40-hour work week in workplaces with a six-day work week, the annual work time norm of 1922 hours calculated for a five-day work week must be applied in 2026.
