The European Union leadership has expressed deep concern regarding the events in Iran.

The editorial reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa stated that ensuring nuclear security and preventing actions that would further escalate tensions are of vital importance.

It was noted that the European Union has imposed broad sanctions in response to the actions of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and continues its diplomatic efforts to resolve issues related to nuclear and ballistic programs through negotiations.

The leadership called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, protect the civilian population, and fully adhere to international law.
