An online meeting of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held today.
The editorial office reports that during the meeting, a violation of the "On Media" Law on the ARB channel's broadcast was discussed.
Specifically, on January 10th, during the broadcast of the "Səkkiz" series between 23:00 and 23:55, one of the characters used profanity, and this utterance was not technically restricted during the broadcast.
Thus, a violation of Article 14.1.6 of the "On Media" Law occurred (use of immoral lexical (profane) words and expressions, and gestures is not permitted), and the violation was confirmed by the specialists of the Audiovisual Council.
Taking the above into account, the members of the Audiovisual Council decided to impose a sanction against the ARB channel and suspend the channel's broadcast for three hours on January 15th.
