According to official data from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), bluetongue disease has been recorded in the Powys and Monmouthshire regions of Wales, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; lumpy skin disease in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Kingdom of Spain; and highly pathogenic avian influenza in the Thuringia state of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ardabil province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Haskovo province of the Republic of Bulgaria, Southern Denmark region of the Kingdom of Denmark, and Drenthe province of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
This information was provided by the Information Support and Innovative Solutions Department of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA).
It was stated that, in order to protect the territory of the republic from these infectious diseases, temporary restrictions have been imposed by the Food Safety Agency on the import of relevant goods from the mentioned areas, taking into account the zoning principle, in accordance with WOAH's "Terrestrial Animal Health Code".
At the same time, an appeal has been made to the State Customs Committee for the implementation of appropriate measures.
