As part of a multi-year collaboration between Apple and Google, Apple has selected Google's Gemini models as its primary technological foundation for artificial intelligence. The agreement covers the updated version of the Siri voice assistant and the development of the Apple Intelligence system, with these features planned for release in 2026.

According to editorial reports, based on a joint statement from the parties, Apple chose Gemini technology after an extensive evaluation process, considering it the most suitable platform for future Apple Foundation Models. The company stated that Gemini's performance and scalability played a decisive role in this decision.

Under the agreement, Gemini models will be integrated into Apple's internal artificial intelligence ecosystem. Expanding the capabilities of the Siri system, which has faced functional limitations and delays in recent years, will be one of the main priorities. At the same time, Apple emphasizes that a significant portion of core artificial intelligence functions will operate on devices themselves and via the Private Cloud Compute platform, ensuring the protection of privacy standards.

The collaboration is considered a noteworthy event in the technology sector. Elon Musk, however, warned that this partnership between Apple and Google creates an "unreasonable centralization of power" in the field of artificial intelligence, potentially affecting the competitive balance in the market.
