Innovations in technology are becoming an integral part of our daily lives, providing improvements in various fields. In this news, Amazon's smart glasses project, developed to further optimize its delivery services, attracts attention.
Redaksiya reports that Amazon introduced its smart glasses at an event called "Delivering the Future" held in San Francisco, which will help delivery associates deliver packages more safely and efficiently. This innovation aims to improve customers' delivery experience.
The smart glasses automatically activate after the delivery driver parks their vehicle and show the driver the correct packages to deliver. A list of packages appears on the screen, and the glasses can also indicate whether the driver has selected the correct package. After the driver exits the vehicle, the glasses provide step-by-step navigation to the delivery address, highlight potential hazards along the way, and give directions in places where the address might be difficult to find. In the future, the glasses are also planned to warn drivers about dangerous situations such as delivering a package to the wrong address or the presence of a dog in the yard. Amazon's smart glasses also come with a vest that includes a control device and a special emergency button that drivers can use to call emergency services along their routes. The glasses are equipped with a swappable battery for all-day use. If needed, prescription and transitional lenses can also be worn. Amazon is currently testing the smart glasses with delivery drivers in North America. Although there are rumors that the company is working on smart glasses intended for end-users, Amazon has not yet made any statements regarding smart glasses for end-users.
