On August 12, President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Bajram Begaj congratulated the head of state on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as on the signing of the declaration and other documents witnessed by the US President. He particularly emphasized the role of the Azerbaijani President for the determination and leadership demonstrated in this process. At the same time, Bajram Begaj highly appreciated the support provided by the US President to the process.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations. The head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan was the initiator of the peace agenda and the author of the text of the peace agreement in the region, and touched upon the importance of the documents adopted during the meeting in Washington for advancing the peace agenda. President Ilham Aliyev noted the role of the US President for the support shown to this process.
During the phone conversation, the successful cooperation and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Albania within international organizations were highly appreciated.
