A delegation from the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance (Agency) visited Ankara for an experience exchange with the Social Security Institution (SGK) of the Republic of Turkey, based on the signed Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Action Plan between the Agency and SGK.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation held a series of meetings with SGK specialists. Yakup Koç, Head of SGK's Strategic Development Department, greeted the delegation, expressing his pleasure at seeing them at the institution. Yakup Koç also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of compulsory health insurance and stated his readiness to share their experiences.
Beyali Mammadov, Head of the Monitoring Department of the Agency's Medical Planning Department, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality. He noted that the implementation of the compulsory health insurance system in Azerbaijan has increased access to medical services, emphasizing the importance of Turkey's experience in improving the system.
During the two-day meetings, the parties exchanged views through presentations on areas such as calculating the cost of medical services, ensuring the provision of medical services, concluding contracts with medical providers, paying for services, monitoring the service process, organizing public relations, human resource management, and international cooperation.
During the presentations, detailed information was provided about the MEDULA system, one of SGK's most important IT projects. Examples of medicines and medical services entered into the database by medical providers were demonstrated. The procedure for registration, invoicing, and tracking processes through the system was explained, and participants' questions were answered.
The experience exchange contributed to the development of existing cooperation between the two countries in the field of compulsory health insurance.
