Investigations are ongoing into an incident that occurred near the White House in the capital, Washington. According to the Secret Service, an individual crashed a vehicle into a barrier near the White House and was subsequently arrested. Details of the incident are being investigated.

According to a statement from a Secret Service spokesperson, an individual crashed their vehicle into a Secret Service vehicle gate located at the intersection of 17th Street and E Street. The individual, who was immediately arrested by Secret Service personnel, had their vehicle inspected by the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department and it was determined to be safe.
The District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who responded to the scene, cleared the area after assisting the Secret Service with the investigation. A Secret Service spokesperson stated that additional information would be provided once the investigation is concluded. Currently, the causes and other details of the incident are being investigated.
